3.9% transmission gain on photovoltaic cover glass with thermal-curable LRI
A leading solar module integrator
Key metrics
01
The challenge
The solar integrator needed an anti-reflective coating for photovoltaic cover glass that could increase module efficiency through higher light transmission. The coating had to survive outdoor weathering (IEC 61215) and be compatible with tempered glass processing.
02
Our approach
Kriya applied thermal-curable LRI coating (RI 1.37) directly to the glass substrate. The coating was tested for transmission gain, haze, and tempering survival. Accelerated weathering was validated per IEC 61215 standards.
03
The outcome
The LRI coating delivered 3.9% transmission gain (from 89.9% to 93.8% C-illuminant) with 0.34% haze. The coating survived tempering at 630°C and passed accelerated weathering validation. Direct glass coating eliminates the need for laminated AR films.
Why Kriya
Kriya’s thermal-curable LRI uniquely survives glass tempering, enabling direct application in the solar module production line without additional lamination steps.
