Compliance, quality and supply security at Kriya Materials
Qualifying a new coating supplier means answering questions that go beyond chemistry: is the quality system real, are the regulatory statements available, and can production depend on this company for years? This page collects the evidence in one place, so your quality, procurement and EHS colleagues can review it without a chain of e-mails.

Quality management — ISO 9001:2015
Kriya Materials operates a certified ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, continuously certified since 2010 — first under ISO 9001:2008 with Lloyd's Register, transferred to Bureau Veritas in March 2014, and upgraded to ISO 9001:2015 in September 2018. Development, production and release run on numbered, controlled procedures, with batch records and retained samples supporting full traceability from raw-material lot to shipped product.
Continuously ISO 9001 certified since 2010 (Lloyd's 2010–2014, Bureau Veritas 2014–present); on ISO 9001:2015 since 2018; current certificate available in the document set
Controlled procedures for development, production, QC release and change control
Internal audit programme with graded findings and tracked follow-up
Batch-level traceability and retained samples per production lot
Regulatory compliance — REACH, RoHS, PPWR, CLP
Every Kriya product is supported by product-specific supplier declarations, issued from composition and raw-material data. We have provided REACH and RoHS statements to customers since 2017, and issue declarations under newer frameworks such as the Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (EU) 2025/40 — including its heavy-metals and PFAS articles — on request per product.
REACH: raw materials sourced registered for our volumes and uses; per-product statements on request
RoHS and REACH SVHC: restricted substances are avoided in formulation design or actively formulated out, not merely declared
SVHC-free and RoHS-conformity statements issued per product code on request
PPWR (EU) 2025/40 heavy-metals declarations per product
Safety Data Sheets prepared with a specialist regulatory partner; CLP-classified per composition
UFI codes and EU poison-centre notifications (PCN) in place for hazardous mixtures
PFAS-free options are available in every Kriya product family, and the entire Low Refractive Index (LRI) product line is PFAS-free — a genuine differentiator, since standard sub-1.42 refractive index alternatives on the market are PFAS-based. Composition-based PFAS supplier statements are issued per product code so your regulatory team gets a declaration specific to the exact material you buy.
Supply security & business continuity
Kriya has supplied functional coatings to display and optical OEMs since 2010 — relationships measured in years and hundreds of shipped batches. Production is in Nuth, the Netherlands, on a predominantly European raw-material base. For critical raw materials we qualify interchangeable alternatives in advance, so a supplier disruption changes our purchase order, not your delivery.
Predominantly EU-based production and supply chain
Critical raw materials dual-sourced with pre-qualified interchangeable equivalents
15+ years of continuous supply to display-industry OEMs and converters
Supply agreements with business-continuity terms available for production programmes
Continuity mechanisms for production programmes
Supply security is not a promise that nothing will go wrong; it is what is in place if something does. For production programmes Kriya offers four mechanisms, agreed per programme and written into the supply agreement rather than left to goodwill.
1
Availability declaration with last-order right.
A signed commitment to keep the product available for the life of the programme, a minimum notice period before any discontinuation, and the right to place a final order covering the programme's remaining demand. Kriya already works under such a declaration with existing OEM programmes.
2
Safety stock at an independent chemical warehouse.
An agreed quantity of released, QC-tested product — sized per programme in weeks of consumption — held at a specialised third-party chemical-storage provider in the Netherlands, physically separate from the Nuth site.
3
Formulation escrow.
Because every Kriya product is developed for one customer under its own product code, the formulation can be placed in escrow for that customer: the recipe, raw-material specifications and sources, and the process parameters are deposited with an independent escrow agent under a three-party agreement. Release is limited to defined events — insolvency, discontinuation of the product, or a sustained failure to supply. Kriya's IP is protected in normal operation; the customer's supply is protected if normal operation ends.
4
Business-continuity terms in the supply agreement.
Notice periods, last-order rights, safety-stock and escrow provisions are written into the supply agreement for the programme. Which of the four a programme needs, and in what size, is settled during qualification — usually at the quotation & release stage.
Ownership & financial continuity
Kriya Materials B.V. is privately held. Holland Capital, a growth-equity investor in Dutch technology companies, has been the majority shareholder since 2022; Henkel has been a strategic shareholder since 2018, alongside Chemelot Ventures and Shift Invest.
Insurance, confidentiality & data
Kriya Materials B.V. carries business and product liability insurance appropriate to industrial supply; written confirmation is included in the document set. Formulations are Kriya intellectual property, developed exclusively for one customer and applied for no one else. Joint development runs under mutual NDAs, and personal data exchanged with us is handled under the GDPR.
Business & product liability insurance — confirmation available
No standard SKUs: every product is developed exclusively for one customer, under its own unique product code
A third-party enquiry referencing your product code is flagged to you immediately — the code doubles as a leak tracer
Mutual NDA for joint development — customer templates preferred; Kriya publishes its minimum requirements
GDPR-compliant handling of personal and company data
How qualification with Kriya runs
Kriya has no standard products: every coating is formulated for your substrate, equipment and target specification. Qualification therefore follows a fixed route — knowing it in advance lets your project team plan the internal reviews around it.
1
Enquiry & feasibility.
We assess your requirement and give a ballpark cost of the dry, cured coating as applied on your line.
2
Project intake.
A short intake sheet per requested product captures substrate, process and specification; you ship us your substrate.
3
Formulation & coating trials.
We formulate against your specification and coat on your actual substrate.
4
Measured samples.
You receive coated product with measured values against the agreed targets.
5
Quotation & release.
An official per-product quotation, then scale-up and production release under the quality system.
