Co-development model

From concept to qualified production in 5 stages

Every strategic partnership follows our proven 5-stage co-development process. Each stage has defined deliverables, clear ownership, and go/no-go criteria before advancing.

1

Discovery & Scoping

2–4 weeks

Joint definition of optical, mechanical, and environmental requirements. Gap analysis against existing Kriya platform. Feasibility assessment with indicative formulation routes.

Deliverables

  • Requirements specification
  • Feasibility report
  • Preliminary formulation roadmap

Kriya role

Application engineering team

Partner role

Product development / R&D lead

2

Formulation Development

4–12 weeks

Iterative formulation cycles targeting all CTQ parameters simultaneously. Typically 3–5 formulation iterations with full optical and mechanical characterisation at each stage. Partner receives samples for in-house evaluation.

Deliverables

  • Candidate formulations (3–5)
  • Full TDS per candidate
  • Application protocol

Kriya role

Formulation chemists + optical engineers

Partner role

Application testing & feedback

3

Application Optimisation

4–8 weeks

Fine-tuning of coating parameters (viscosity, solids content, cure profile) for the partner’s specific substrate, coating method, and production line. On-site engineering support available.

Deliverables

  • Optimised formulation
  • Process window documentation
  • Reliability test data

Kriya role

Application engineers (on-site optional)

Partner role

Production line access & testing

4

Qualification & Validation

8–16 weeks

Formal qualification against partner’s acceptance criteria. Includes accelerated aging, environmental testing, and batch-to-batch consistency validation across minimum 3 production batches.

Deliverables

  • Qualification report
  • Batch consistency data
  • Shelf-life validation

Kriya role

Quality team + production

Partner role

Incoming quality inspection

5

Mass Production & Supply

Ongoing

Transition to regular production supply. Dedicated production slots, safety stock agreements, and continuous improvement programme. Batch-level CoA with all 10 CTQ parameters.

Deliverables

  • Supply agreement
  • CoA per batch
  • Annual business review

Kriya role

Production + key account management

Partner role

Demand planning & forecasting

Partnership Models

We work with partners across the value chain — from OEM end-users to film converters, research institutes, and strategic investors.

OEM Co-Development

End-to-end formulation development for specific product requirements. Kriya acts as an extension of the OEM’s R&D team, providing chemistry expertise and manufacturing scale.

Typical applications

Display cover lenses, automotive glazing, foldable device hardcoats

Engagement model

Typically 6–18 months from scoping to qualified supply

Film Converter Partnerships

Coating systems optimised for the converter’s specific coating line, substrate portfolio, and end-market requirements. We adapt our formulations to your process, not the other way around.

Typical applications

Optical film producers, window film manufacturers, flexible electronics

Engagement model

Formulation adaptation: 8–12 weeks typical

Research Collaborations

Joint R&D programmes with universities and research institutes exploring next-generation coating architectures. Focused on pre-competitive research with clear paths to commercial application.

Typical applications

TNO (building energy), university programmes (metalens fabrication)

Engagement model

Project-based, typically 12–24 months

Strategic Investor Partnerships

Deep technology partnerships with strategic investors who bring domain expertise, market access, and co-development opportunities alongside capital.

Typical applications

Henkel (adhesives & surface technologies), Holland Capital (growth equity)

Engagement model

Long-term strategic alignment

What Partners Get

Dedicated R&D team

Named formulation chemist and application engineer assigned to your project.

Full optical modelling

Thin-film simulation of your complete stack before any chemistry work begins.

Rapid iteration

3–5 formulation iterations typical, with 2–3 week turnaround per cycle.

On-site support

Our application engineers come to your production line for process optimisation.

IP protection

Clear IP ownership terms. Joint IP possible. NDA from day one.

Scale-up guarantee

What works at lab scale will work at production scale — we manufacture everything ourselves.
