Our multifunctional coating for photovoltaic solar panels has been developed in order to improve on the efficiency/ energy generation of solar panels once installed outdoors. In many of the climate zones where solar panels would make most sense exist some specific climatic challenges which prevent your photovoltaic solar panel to deliver upon the promised return on your investment. In extreme cases, we have seen solar panel installations with efficiency losses of up to 25%, which is reduced by our multifunctional coating.
Light reflection on the surface means a direct loss in revenue for your solar panel installation, which is circumvented by our anti-reflection effect which cancels up to an average of 3% light reflection.
Next to light reflection, in dry, desert like areas there is dust settling on your solar panel. With our anti-dust effect, which is part of our multifunctional coating, the negative impact of this dust deposition is reduced substantially. Another benefit is the reduced need for cleaning. Especially in those regions where water resources are scarse, this positively impacts the solar farm operation cost and thus improves the levelized cost of energy (LCOE) from the start.
On top of the anti-reflection and anti-dust effect there is another element which we can suppress with our coating: the heating up of the solar panel.
As every degree C above 25 Degrees C means an average loss of 0.5%, reducing this top temperature has another positive impact on the efficiency of your solar panel, thus the amount of energy generated and the return of your investment.
Our multifunctional coating for photovoltaic solar panels is applied on solar glass through conventional wet coating methods, e.g. roll-coating, followed by a sinter step to cure this 100% inorganic system, and achieve its final combined functionality.
