The invention and broad application of LED lighting has been a major step forward in our challenge to lower energy use. However, we still continue our mission to lower energy use for lighting even further in order to save valuable resources.

LED Lighting: improving light extraction and more lumen per Watt

LED lighting has become the dominating technology in our homes and offices for lighting, and has helped to decrease the use of energy for lighting. With an efficiency conversion of about 15% from energy to lumen, there is still a lot to gain. Kriya Materials continues to work on improving this by enhancing the out-coupling of lumen from the LED chip. While doing so, we aim to continuously lower the use of energy for lighting even further, and thus decrease the overall CO2 footprint of our homes and offices.

OLED lighting: full freedom in design and enabling mass production of lighting devices

While OLED lighting may be common in smartphone displays, it still isn’t the new standard for our homes and offices. The amount of light extracted with OLED is low, which is why Kriya Materials is working on making a much higher lumen extraction possible. Our main goal, which we are working towards, is to make OLED a workable lighting solution, allowing full freedom in design and making lighting not only functional but also attractive to the eye.

Hard coat, antistatic hard coat, anti-reflection, diffusion coating for lamp coverings

Kriya Materials offers a range of multifunctional coatings for the lighting industry and light covers with anti-reflection coating for lowering internal reflection. Other examples are antistatic hard coat for ATEX lighting housings, covers enabling ATEX LED lighting and coatings which diffuse the light coming form the lamp housing and cover, giving the diffusion characteristic your customer is looking for.
