Birefringence Stress Calculator
Estimate stress-induced Δn and optical retardance in polymer films.
For PET, TAC, PMMA, PC, or a generic polymer (each with its stress-optic coefficient C in 1/Pa), computes Δn = C·σ, retardance in nm and waves at the working wavelength, and classifies the visual impact as negligible / notable / strong / very strong, with a polymer-specific note on the C sign.
