Waveguide Image Quality — will the user see a crisp image?
Render a display test pattern as it would appear through an AR / VR waveguide after N TIR bounces and out-coupling. See how incumbent BK7 compares against a Kriya HRI core on the same pattern, with pixel-level RGB separation and eyebox vignette.
Diffractive waveguides route light through a glass core via grating equation + total internal reflection, then out-couple to the eye. Two things degrade the perceived image: chromatic walk-off between RGB channels (visible as colour fringing on edges) and eyebox vignette from out-coupler losses accumulated over bounces. Pick a core refractive index — BK7 at 1.52 is the incumbent reference; Kriya HRI 1.65 / 1.85 / 2.00 are the alternatives. This tool shows the resulting image side-by-side on the same test pattern.
