This gave us a clear challenge: lowering the amount of solar heat passing through glazing, and thus lowering the need for air-conditioning. Thanks to our nanoparticle technology, the products we develop stay transparent, as opposed to the reflective, mirror type glazing typically being used in skyscrapers. The result is a product that offers an unbeatable SHGC (solar heat gain coefficient) while staying as transparent as possible in the VLT (visible light transmission) region.
Scratch resistant NIR blocking coating for window films
For after-market applications we have developed a ready to use customizable organic coating for our window film customers. This product, which comes as a solvent-based UV curable system, is suitable to be applied with typical roll-to-roll machines. The coating, when cured, results in a highly transparent window film with excellent solar heat blocking properties. The scratch resistant NIR blocking coating leads to a lower energy bill, lower CO2 footprint and still offers the aesthetics of normal glass, as the transparency remains high. NIR master batch for PVB manufacturing
Our ready to use master batch offers you full flexibility: just use it as an additive during PVB manufacturing; “truly plug and play”; add a small percentage to get the required solar heat gain coefficient. This allows PVB manufacturers to tailor the performance for automotive glass or architectural glazing with SHGC’s as low as 0.2. The impact of the enhanced PVB is that the NIR light is filtered out, which leads to lower temperatures in your car, home or office, lowering the need for air-conditioning.
